Chapter One

As the alarm clock played ‘Passion’ by Utada Hikaru, a blonde haired girl came out from under her white blanket.

“C’mon sweetie! Time to wake up!” her mother called from down the stairs.

The girl just went back under the covers to try and go back to sleep, but it was no use. Her mother came up the stairs and opened the white door to her daughter’s room.

“Naminé, I said wake up!” her mother said firmly to her daughter.

“I say, I want to sleep!” the girl said.

“Naminé-” her mother paused. She quietly left the room and left the door open. She went to the bathroom, got a cup of icy, cold water, and quietly went back up to her daughter’s room as if she had never left, and left her daughter to think she was thinking of ways to get her daughter out of bed. When she got back to her daughter’s room, she carefully lifted the covers off her daughters head and poured the water on her daughter.

“MOM!” Naminé yelled at her mother as she shot up from her bed shaking cold, and wet.

“Sorry sweetie, you wouldn’t wake up, and it was my only option.” her mother called.

“How come I can never get my own way in this house?” the girl said in Japanese. “I can’t wait until I get out of this house! I can wake up as late as I want in boarding school!” she added in Japanese.

“Oh hush, Naminé.” her mother said.

Naminé got out a white spaghetti tank top and a white skirt. Her mother left the room so she could get dressed. After Naminé’s clothes were on, she added a pair of black sandals with silver straps. Then she got her pure white messenger bag with a pink heart in the corner and went downstairs and got a bagel and grabbed her suitcase and walked to the corner of the next block to where the bus stop was.

After sitting on the bench there for a good 30 minutes, the charter bus finally came. Naminé loaded onto it and couldn’t find a seat. She found a seat the she could share with a nice red haired girl who said that Naminé could sit with her.

“Thanks.” Naminé said as she put her suitcase in the little case above their seats.

“No problem. Where are you going?” the girl asked.

“I’m going to Twilight High Academy.” Naminé said.

“Really? Great. My name’s Kairi.” the girl said as she held her hand out for Naminé to shake it.

“I’m-” Naminé was interrupted by two boys. A boy with brown hair and a boy with silver hair who loaded onto the next bus stop.

“Hey Kairi, who’s your new friend?” the boy with brown hair said.

“Oh, I was just about to find out…until you idiots loaded onto the bus.” Kairi said.

“I’m Naminé.” Naminé said to her new friends.

“I’m Sora, and this is Riku.” the boy with brown hair said as he pointed to him and then the boy with silver hair.

“Hey, Sora…where’s Roxas?” Kairi asked.

“Oh, he took off with Hayner, Pence and Olette, they wanted to get the single beds before their roommates got there.” Sora said.

“Oh…okay.” Kairi said as she turned to Sora and then looked at Naminé. “So, Naminé, is this your first year at Twilight High Academy? Cause, I’ve never seen you there before.” Kairi asked. Naminé wasn’t paying much attention to Kairi though.

Roxas? Why does that name sound so…familiar? I know I’ve heard that name somewhere before. Could he be…no way! He can’t be…can he? Naminé started thinking to herself.

A picture of Naminé as a 4 year old popped into the young 16 year old Naminé’s head.

“Hey, Nami…” a boy with spiky blonde hair said.

“Yeah?” the young Naminé said as she looked up from her sand castle.

“Um…cool sand castle.” he said trying to ignore what he was really going to say to the girl sitting in the normous pile of sand next to him.

“Thx, but that isn’t what you want to tell me is it?” she said.

“No, it is…” he looked at the girl’s eyes, he could tell he knew he was lying. “Alright, it’s just that, I don’t want you to move…you’re my best friend.” he said.

“Oh, you’re my best friend too…” the girl paused. “M-my parents say that moving away is for the best.” she said as a tear rolled down her cheek.

“Don’t cry Naminé…please don’t cry.” the boy said.

“I can’t help it.” the girl said as a streak of tears rolled down her cheeks.

“C’mon, you’re not moving for a while, why don’t we keep playing and make the best of the time we have.” the boy said.

“Okay.” the young Naminé sniffled as wiped away her tears and they started playing tag.

“Naminé? Are you okay?” Kairi asked as she looked at her new friend.

“Huh? Oh…yeah, I think so, yeah, I’m fine.” Naminé said.
